J'Adore Love Buzz: Christian Dior Tank Top (and Pizza)
Sitting here having the hardest time deciding what I should include in this post aside from these really "funky" photos of me in a pizza shop that I recently just discovered and found myself wondering where the hell it's been all of my life. For sure, what I know I don't want to happen is for these style posts to develop into some sort of narcissistic photo diary of me without as much of something in it for you.
From here on out, each fashion blog post will include some helpful tidbit about the location. It seems to be a topic of interest, so I felt this would be valuable for you to know. Especially, if you're looking to start your own style blog. Along with some background information about the specific key pieces worn. It's so easy to "make up stories" about popular fashion bloggers and how they can afford luxury brands, the glamorous life a fashion blogger lives behind the scenes, or even how frugal a DIY fashion blogger really is with their financial budget. And finally, I will continue to include purchase information on where you can find the item, either one exactly like it or similar to it.
Let's be honest, as the reader, you got to be getting something out of this besides... well, these really "funky" photos of me in a pizza shop.
Speaking of pizza...
LOCATION: A Pizza Joint called Love Buzz
New York style crunchy cheese pizza in Houston? Mhm. Say no more.
The slices aren't the size of Texas, but the cheap prices for drinks (talkin' straight liquor and beer here people) and pizza more than make up for it. With menu item names like 'stank nuggets', 'baller status', and 'good morning wood', you can't help but to the let the grade-schooler in you giggle. Although, I can't say if the funny menu items make the food itself all that much better given I stick to my good ol' cheese pizza slices. Call me 'basic' if you want, but I prefer to indulge in the simple pleasures every now and then. 😉
How did I find this place? Love Buzz was a place suggested by my photographer, Tipp.
How did I find my photographer? I'll save that story for another time. But, this was the second place she suggested that stuck for me. The first one was from the first shoot we did together at a parking garage and security kicked us out right after the winning shot.
Hipster chic with a bit of edge was the goal with this look, distressed shorts help accomplish that with some other key pieces. Originally, I intended to showcase this look with the gold crystal slide sandals that I made. But, the Christian Dior muscle top colors went perfectly with the cool undertone of silver hardware on the bling sandals worn. The craving was strong for some shorts from BoogaSuga. Yet, it would not be a wise decision on my part to pursue them at the moment, so I took the route of a responsible adult on a budget and wore the shorts I already owned from Topshop.
SWTrading Accessory Plaza
One of my favorite places to go for affordable accessories, cheap but good quality jewelry. If you take care of it. Which is a key aspect to keep in mind, not all jewelry is created equal and some pieces just require a little more care than others.
TOP: Christian Dior
Where did I get this? My friend from who lived in New York gave it to me since Plato's Closet was trippin'. I'd say she inspired a number of pieces I have in my wardrobe, my favorite is the Marc Jacobs skin cancer campaign shirt dawning Victoria Beckham practically naked.
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Where to get it? eBay. If a handbag has been out for awhile, then eBay is the first place I check.
Not as much with handbags that are new and current fashion trends.
The style type you want to search up is 'Jumbo Love Quilted Leather Crossbody Shoulder Bag"
Why go to eBay for cheap women's designer handbags? It's easy to find authentic luxury handbags for sale. Plus, if I want a style type that's no longer sold in stores, then I can almost guarantee that someone is selling handbags on eBay with that style type. eBay is the best place to sell purses, so even if an item is new and a current fashion trend, it's still worth checking eBay!
Phone Case: Kate Spade NEW YORK
I wanted my iPhone case to have a smoother look that was easier on the sharp edges. This glitter iPhone case did the job. Plus, it was cheaper than the Casemate Brillance Tough in Iridescent that I wanted and it matched my crystal slide sandals.
Where did I get it? eBay. Surprise, with a hint of sarcasm. But in all seriousness, you should check out my post on where I teach you how to get clothes at a cheap price.
yellow Ring (Left): Unknown
Got it from Stein Mart. On sale. 😁 It's a store typically geared towards the more financially established age demographic of women compared to someone in high school, college, or a young woman embracing the phase of "adulting". The politically correct way to say, 'a store your mom would shop at'.
letter Ring (Right): Unknown
This sterling silver ring with the letter "G" representing the first initial of my name, Genia, came from a furniture store that used to be in Willowbrook Mall in Houston. Random, I know. Just goes to show you, to keep an open mind when you go shopping.
I don't know where this watch was purchased from, but my sister gave it to me. Used to wear it quite often, but not as much anymore. Yet, it seemed to mesh well with the bracelets.
Tequila w/ Pineapple Juice and a splash of Cranberry.
Is that what you ordered from Love Buzz? Given that I'm on the floor gulping down the rest of what used to be my drink, you must be wondering what it that good. It was. Enough that I had to share.
Where I got them? Topshop in the Galleria.
What is the style type? Well, if you must know. The tag has "HAYDEN" as the style type. The model above (see what I did there?) is wearing UK6, EUR 34, or US 2. You're welcome. 🙃
Silver Bangles: swtrading plaza
Where to get them? Good ol' SWTrading Accessory Plaza. Another one of my simple pleasures, a basic costume jewelry accessory store to overload the senses with a vast selection of jewelry that may or may not break two weeks later depending on how hard you wear it. 😛 These are nice because I love the sound they make together when the two bracelets meet.
shoes: Women's crystal slide sandals in silver
What brand they are. The shoe is by Cape Robin. I say this because they originally only had a transparent lucite band. I added some crystal trim to them to turn them into bling sandals.
How did I make them? Easy, I'll show you how in my DIY sparkly flat sandals blog post. Sign up below for email notifications to get notified when it goes up!
