How to Dress Broad Shoulders #OutfitDeconstruction
accentuate the hips:
Light bottoms (ie. black pants, dark jean shorts, etc.) will make you look thicker if you have a slimmer hips. The opposite of the old school tip of wearing black to make you slimmer, where something light to make them pop more.
So why am I wearing dark bottoms? Because I want to and it's what I had in my closet. 😜
However, the skater skirt flows outwards and freely as opposed to being constricted and form fitting like a pencil skirt - this skater skirt helps enhances the hips with a bit more volume.
Slim down the shoulders:
Embrace the v-neck or plunge top, this creates less focus on your shoulders and centers the eye. If you wanna get fancy, throw some accessories into the mix.
Dark tops. However, since this has a leopard pattern versus it being a solid top - it isn't as obvious here.
Add some proportion to create balance. To do this, I tied up my shirt to lift it up and made it a little more baggy around my mid-drift as opposed to letting it fall straight down, which would cause it to flatten out my figure.
Pay attention to the seam line of your shirts:
Ever look at some of your shirts and there is a seam line where the front and back of the shirt meet? It's literally the line that starts from your neckline to the 'chip' of your shoulder. Not all tops will have it, but for the ones that do - pay attention to them when trying shirts on. Shorter seam lines will enhance your shoulders.
That concludes the first installment of the Outfit Deconstruction series, style made easy. 🖤
