How I Accidentally Found a Photographer Out of Town Through Airbnb Experiences

I recently went back to Los Angeles for work, so I knew this round I needed to make the most of it.
Last time, I barely took any photos or explored places with the intent of creating content for the blog.

Despite staying for a shorter period of time (3 days) and the weather actin’ up (who knew it rained in LA), I still managed to get it in!!

The main thing I wanted to do was get a photoshoot in - and sometimes finding a photographer can be challenge, even harder if you’re trying to find a local photographer in a unfamiliar city. And on top of that, you may or may not get someone who can help you navigate the city your visiting to map out photo locations.

airbnb experiences - airbnb activities - airbnb adventures - air b and b experiences - top airbnb experiences - airbnb tour guide - airbnb experiences review - experience airbnb - airbnb trips experiences - best airbnb experiences = about airbnb experiences - most popular airbnb experiences - find a photographer - find local photographers - find photographers online

So when I was browsing Airbnb for a place to stay, you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon more than I expected. Got sidetracked and started looking at the “Experiences” section of the site and saw they offered various activities.

📝PRO TIP📝

If you’re ever traveling solo (or a group), AirBnB experiences offer different activities

(typically hosted and organized by locals) to keep yourself preoccupied with an adventure.

I set my sights on two experiences, one was a thrift store tour (might as well get a thrift shop review in too) and another was a photo-wall crawl. Knowing I wanted to do a different look for each spot, I reached out to experience host on Airbnb to get more info on how it works.

Tip: If you have a experience you’re looking at and want to tweak it a bit, message the host and see if they have other options that aren’t mentioned on the post. They may even be willing to accommodate you or point you towards someone who can help you. (Check out this experience here !)

Next thing you know - I find myself working out the details for a photoshoot!!
Knocked out two birds with one stone, found a cute spot to stay and I found a (affordable) photographer.

Linked up with Natalie (@los.locals / @melroseave.la) to do a private session and it was much better than I could imagine. She not only helped plot the order of the photo locations, but she was also mindful about including places to change #MajorKey. I highly recommend her, especially if you’re a blogger.

Tip: Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the experience posts you’re looking at to find other ones to compare it to, you find even more that way!

So if you find yourself going out of town and trying to figure out what activities to get into, it’s worth checking out the experiences on Airbnb.

Until next time.
